Good Year India Limited

About Us

Goodyear is one of the world’s largest tyre companies. It employs about 64,000 people and manufactures its products in 48 facilities in 22 countries around the world. Its two Innovation Centers in Akron, Ohio and Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg strive to develop state-of-the-art products and services that set the technology and performance standard for the industry.Goodyear’s winged-foot trademark was inspired by a newel-post statuette of the Roman god Mercury in the home of Goodyear founder Frank Seiberling. Seiberling felt Mercury embodied many of the characteristics for which Goodyear products were known.

Goodyear’s presence in India is over 90 years old, with two plants, one each in Ballabgarh and Aurangabad. In the passenger car segment, Goodyear India supplies tyres to many of the leading Original Equipment Manufacturers. Goodyear India has also been a pioneer in introducing tubeless radial tyres in this segment.

In the farm segment, in India, Goodyear tyres are supplied to all the major tractor companies. In 2010/11, Goodyear India was awarded the Superbrand status.

If our examination shows that such product has failed under the terms of this warranty, we shall replace the product on pro-rata wear basis. The amount to be compensated for the tyre will be calculated from the percentage of tread wear. In other words, the so called “remaining tread depth measurement system” will be applied.

The warranty is valid exclusively for the first owner actually using the covered products & is non-transferable. Tampering of any kind on our products will automatically invalidate such warranty (e.g. tampered serial number, ply rating, size of tyre, etc). There is no other warranty or liability applicable to these products, unless specified for a particular size/design, and no representative has any authority to make any representation, promise or agreement except as stated herein.

Warranty-Exclusions And Limitations

The warranty does not cover tyre damage or irregular wear & tear caused or arising from any of the following reason. Road hazards including punctures, cuts, snags, bruise, impact breaks etc.; Improper use or operation, including without limitation: Improper use such as racing, testing, overloading, improper inflation pressure ,fitment not according to the specification of vehicle or wheel manufacturer ,negligence , and alterations to the tyre; Insufficient or improper maintenance, including without limitation: Failure to rotate tyres regularly, wheel misalignment, worn suspension components, improper tyre mounting or demounting, tyre/wheel assembly imbalance, or other vehicle conditions, defects, or characteristics.

Ride disturbance after the first 25% of usable tread-wear or due to damaged wheels or any vehicle condition; Long Storage of new vehicles with tyres mounted on, which may cause a flat spot on tyre; Contamination or degradation by petroleum products or other chemicals, fire or water; Improper Repair.

The warranty does not cover:
  • Tyres worn off beyond tread wear indicator (on either or any one side).
  • Tyres purchased from unauthorized dealers.
  • Tyres used for Motor-cross, Rallys etc.

Driving Innovations:

At Goodyear Research, our scientists are proud to draw on over 100 years of innovation in discovery, design and manufacturing for the inspiration that fuels today’s research.

We were there:

  • When the Model T Ford rolled off the production line in 1908, it rolled on Goodyear tyres.
  • We’re more than a car tyre maker we made the world’s first pneumatic airplane tyre in 1909 and the first radial tyre for commercial aircrafts in 1983.
  • The first vehicle to break the 600mph land speed record did it on Goodyear tyres (1964). We also have a long history of working with Formula 1 teams and manufacturers, putting Goodyear tyres on cars that win races.
  • We put the first tyres on the moon the 1970 Apollo 14 moon lander was shod with Goodyear’s XLT tyres.
  • We have a habit of making first: the first off road tyres (Rut-Proof, 1921); the first tyres designed to keep rolling after a blowout (Lifeguard, 1934); the first mass market tyres for wet conditions (Aquatred, 1991) and many more.
  • We think green from the introduction of the BioTred corn-based compound in 2001 to our current work on a renewable biomass tyre.
  • The technology behind the tyres

With over 100 years of innovation powering our designs, every Goodyear tyre you purchase is built with the latest technologies to provide the best driving experience. Read what each of these technologies can do and learn in which tyres you can find them.

Active Braking Technology

ActiveBraking Technology uses an innovative three-dimensional tread block design to increase contact between tyre and road during hard braking. The result is shorter braking distance on both wet and dry roads. See how the ActiveBrake Technology improves the performance of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric.

Durawall Technology: Helps make the sidewalls of our tyres more resistant to cuts and punctures.

FuelSaving Technology

FuelSaving Technology combines a lightweight structure and optimised tyre shape with an advanced tread compound to reduce the energy required to roll. This lowers fuel consumption and cuts CO2 emissions. FuelSaving Technology is found in the Assurance TripleMax.

Hydro Grip Technology: With HydroGrip Technology, you can count on maximum grip, control and braking ability in wet weather conditions. This latest grip technology innovation helps the Assurance TripleMax cut braking distance on wet roads.

QuietTred Technology: The latest evolution of QuietTred Technology helps minimise tyre noise and reduce vibrations using noise dampening tread design as well as optimised cavity and carcass design. It has helped the EfficientGrip and EfficientGrip SUV tyres deliver exceptional driving experiences.

Silent Armor Technology: Silent Armor Technology employs a super absorbent layer made with Dupont™ Kevlar™ between the tyre’s tread and underlying belts, bringing you a smoother and quieter riding experience.

Smart Tred Weather Reactive Technology: Smart Tred Weather Reactive Technology features performance-specific tread zones that enable the tyre to adapt to different road and weather conditions. This unique technology is showing its versatility in the Wrangler HP AW tyre.

Sport Grip Technology: SportGrip Technology offers precise handling and responsive grip supported by tread design and compound innovations. This means you’ll enjoy more responsive steering, less deformation when cornering and an incredible grip on wet roads.

TredLife Technology: Tred Life Technology makes use of tread compound innovation and tread depth design. This results in outstanding mileage and prevents irregular wear during the life of the tyre.
