One platform, many vehicle types – the Intelligent Dynamic Driving Chassis (IDDC) from ZF is the ideal technical basis for highly automated electric vehicles. This is because it combines innovative axle systems with an electric drive, environment sensors, as well as hardware and software to make it a self-propelled “skateboard.”
This platform, which is already operational, draws together ZF’s long-standing technological expertise in a wide variety of fields. The platform will even enable young manufacturers to bring new vehicle concepts for transporting passengers and cargo onto the road in a comparatively short period of time.
State-of-the-art and interconnected steering technologies ensure the best possible maneuverability in urban traffic. In combination with the EasyTurn front axle, the modular rear axle system mSTARS (modular Semi-Trailing Arm Rear Suspension) with the built-in Active Kinematics Control (AKC) rear axle steering allows a vehicle with IDDC to turn almost on the spot.
