Product Description:
Sanding systems are used in rail vehicles to improve friction between wheel and track. Operation is either automatic or can be initiated by the driver, who can use it in a targeted way for starting-up and braking.
During emergency braking, sanding is automatically activated. The sand is contained in a sandbox and, when necessary, is conveyed by compressed air between the wheels and the track.

Air Supply
This comes from the vehicle air supply or from a dedicated, small electric compressor.
Sanding Unit
Sanding units work with the overpressure or/and underpressure principle. In addition to the sanding function, some sanding units also offer a heating function (for the entire sand box content) and a so called "after-blow" function.
